The settlement of Samsung Note 7 cases have been pending before the courts for many months now. Several Class Action Lawsuits have already been settled out of court. As per Samsung’s warranty policy, the manufacturer is required to provide a final repair process free of charge, within three months of the manufacturing of the Notebook. However, several Note 7 owners have complained that the final repair process they have paid for is neither effective nor beneficial. In fact, some have alleged that they are still under warranty and cannot use their Notebook anymore!
These complainants have asked for a lawsuit settlement against Samsung. On May 8th, the plaintiff’s attorney, demanded that the company must stop production of the Notebook. The attorney stated that Samsung could lose millions of dollars due to the negligence of its employees. Further, he demanded for an immediate investigation into all possible defects of the Notebook. The lawyer further demanded for a case number and a timetable of the case. In response, Samsung responded by filing a lawsuit against the plaintiff’s attorney.
On May 11th, the lawyers met for the first time in a local court. The judge issued an order for a class-action lawsuit to be filed by all Samsung Notebook buyers. According to the judge, this would allow every individual to file his own claim in the case and make the decision on whether to participate or not. The judge has also set a July 18th as the final deadline for the parties to submit their claim forms and evidences related to the case. The parties are expected to submit their proofs by the said date so as to avoid any delays in the process.

The process works on the presumption that the plaintiff’s attorney has the right to look over your case and make sure that he does not find any defects in it.
